These amendments would exempt five compounds from the definition of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) for consistency with federal rules, impose visible emission limits on certain facilities that are required to have Operating Permits, and expand the time period during which gasoline tank trucks are required to be tested for vapor leak tightness. Public hearings are scheduled for October 18, 2005, in Boston and October 19, 2005, in Springfield.

The standards will apply beginning with model year 2009 vehicles. A public hearing is scheduled for October 17, 2005, in Boston.
