The 2005 annual Public Water System Drinking Water Awards were held at the Massasoit Community College Conference Center in Brockton Massachusetts on May 5, 2005.  Thirty-nine systems were presented awards. 

This awards ceremony was sponsored by the Massachusetts Water Works Association, New England Water Works Association, RCAP Solutions, Barnstable County Water Utilities Association, Massachusetts Rural Water Association, Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Plymouth County Water Works Association, and Western Massachusetts Water Works Association.

The Master of Ceremonies was Michael Knox, president of MWWA.  The Mayor of Brockton, John Yunits, and the Brockton DPW Commissioner, Michael Thoreson, gave talks and introduced the Deputy Commissioner of DEP, Ed Kunce, who read the Drinking Water Day Proclamation. Karen McGuire of EPA gave a talk and awarded the EPA Environmental Educator Awards.  Listed below are the winners of the Public Water System Awards.
