Dear Certified Operator,

MassDEP is creating a new Certified Operator Directory for any operators willing to contract out their services to Public Water Suppliers. If you want your information to be listed in this directory please completely fill out the attached form.  This form can also be found online at http://www.mass.gov/dep/water/drinking/certop.htm.

You have the option of either sending your form via email or postal mail. If sending your form by email please direct your email to program.director@state.ma.us and include certified operator in the subject line of your email. If sending your form via postal mail, please send it to the attention of Alyse Ayler, One Winter Street, 6th floor, Boston, MA 02108.

The Certified Operator Directory lists the Massachusetts certified operators that are willing to work on a contract basis.  Public water systems wishing to hire a Massachusetts Certified Operator to run their system can use this list to locate an operator working in their area. The new directory will replace the current directory that can be found on the web at http://www.mass.gov/dep/water/drinking/certop.htm.

Please note: Being listed in this directory does not mean that MassDEP endorses any operator.  It is simply a tool for PWSs to locate contract operators.  Operators should consult 310 CMR 22.11B and 236 CMR 2.00 to identify what grades of systems they are qualified to operate. Please notify MassDEP at program.director@state.ma.us or by sending us a new form via regular mail whenever there are changes in your certified operator grade, phone, email, address etc. It is up to you to notify MassDEP of these changes.
