FY10 Drinking Water Supply Protection Grant Program

The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP), in coordination with the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, is pleased to issue the FY10 Drinking Water Supply Protection Grant Program's Request for Responses (RFR).
This grant program provides funding to eligible public water systems and municipalities for land acquisitions to protect public drinking water supplies. Land projects must be located in existing drinking water supply areas and may be acquired through purchase or a conservation restriction. Funding for this program is from the Commonwealth Capital Budget, with $2,000,000 expected to be available for this grant round. The maximum grant award for a single project is $500,000. The maximum reimbursement amount available is 50% of the total project cost. Qualified applications will be selected on a competitive basis. Grant award announcements will be in early November 2009. All grant awards are contingent upon funding.

The RFR is available on the MA Comm-Pass website. To access the RFR: 1. Go to http://www.comm-pass.com/ (copy and paste into browser). 2. Click on 'search for solicitations'. 3. In the document number box enter: BRP 2009-04 (leave a space between BRP and 2009). 4. Click on '1 solicitation found that matches your search criteria'. 5. Click on the 'Title'. 6. Click on the 'view' box to open/download the RFR. 7. Also see the 'forms and terms' and submit with application.

Eligible applicants include all municipalities, as well as public water systems established by a legislative act to provide drinking water to the public.
