In accordance with Title 5 (section 15.027) the following is a list of septic system additives that have been allowed for use, with certain conditions, as it has been determined that the product will not harm the septic system components, or adversely affect system function or the environment when used on a schedule recommended by the manufacturer. It is important to stress that the Department's determination to allow the use of an individual constituent is not an endorsement or approval with respect to the benefit, effectiveness, or performance of the system additive. As additional additives are evaluated and allowed usage is granted by the Department, this list will be updated.

Caveat: The applicability of this list may vary, depending on the community where you live. Please check with your local Board of Health, as some municipalities disallow the usage of any additives.
