Finding Your Impaired Waters
1. Look at the P2 Town Watersheds table: Web page
2. Find your town in the table and read across the line to determine what watersheds intersect your town. The list of impaired waters is organized by watershed.
3. Use the "Proposed Integrated List of Waters" found here. Impaired waters are listed in the "Category 5" table that starts on page 70. Look at the listings for each of the watersheds you have identified as part of your town using the P2 Town Watersheds table. Most waterbody listings contain the name of the town where the waterbody is located in the "Description" column. The table only names the towns at the start and end of a river or stream segment. A segment may flow through several towns in between. Look at a map. U.S.G.S topographic maps are recommended.
4. List the category 5 waterbodies that are partially or wholly in your town. These are your Impaired Waters. |
