to MDAR Offices
BOSTON OFFICE

Green & Orange Lines: Take either line to the North Station. Exit onto Causeway Street and walk
under Interstate 93 (the elevated green highway). 251 Causeway Street (Veteran's
Clinic Building) will be on your right, just before the stoplight at the
corner of North Washington Street.

Red Line: Take the Red Line to Park Street station and switch to a Green Line train
bound for Lechmere. Take the Green Line (3 stops) to North Station. Exit
onto Causeway Street and walk under Interstate 93 (the elevated green highway).
251 Causeway Street (Veteran's Clinic Building) will be on your right,
just before the stoplight at the corner of North Washington Street.

Blue Line: Take the Blue Line to Government Center and switch to a Green Line train
bound for Lechmere. Take the Green Line (2 stops) to North Station. Exit
onto Causeway Street and walk under Interstate 93 (the elevated green highway).

just before the stoplight at the corner of North Washington Street.

From South Station: Take the Red Line (2 stops) to the Park Street stop and switch to a Green
Line train bound for Lechmere (3 stops) to North Station. Exit onto Causeway
Street and walk under Interstate 93 (the elevated green highway). 251 Causeway
Street (Veteran's Clinic Building) will be on your right, just before the
stoplight at the corner of North Washington Street.
From North Station: From either exit, walk Across the street onto Causeway under Interstate
93 (the elevated green highway). 251 Causeway Street (Veteran's Clinic
Building) will be on your right, just before the stoplight at the corner
of North Washington Street.
From Logan Airport: Take the Blue Line inbound (4 stops) to Government Center and switch to
a Green Line train bound for Lechmere. Take the Green Line (2 stops) to
North Station. Exit onto Causeway Street and walk under Interstate 93 (the
elevated green highway). 251 Causeway Street (Veteran's Clinic Building)
will be on your right, just before the stoplight at the corner of North
Washington Street.
Due to the Central Artery Project, the directions below are subject to
change. Warning - The Big Dig might cause signs to change frequently.
- From the North: Take Interstate 93S to Exit 26A/Cambridge; stay in the left lane. At the
light, take a left, bearing left around the rotary. Take a right following
the signs to the Fleet Center and travel through the first light. At the
second light, take a left onto Causeway Street. Just past the Fleet Center,
251 Causeway Street (Veteran's Clinic Building) will be on your right,
just before the stoplight at the corner of North Washington Street.
- From Eastern New Hampshire and Northeastern Massachusetts: Take Interstate 95S to Route 1S. Follow Route 1 across the Tobin Bridge
and merge onto Interstate 93S. Take Exit 26/Storrow Drive. Bear left and
follow the signs for the Fleet Center/North Station. At the next set of
lights take a left onto Causeway Street. Just past the Fleet Center, 251
Causeway Street (Veteran's Clinic Building) will be on your right, just
before the stoplight at the corner of North Washington Street.
- From the South: Take interstate 95N to Boston to 93N. Exit 25/Causeway Street is now permanently closed. From the new I-93 North take Exit 26 (Storrow Dr.) and follow signs to
North Station/Leverett Circle. At the rotary, follow signs to the Fleet
Center and travel through the first light. At the second light, take a
left onto Causeway Street. Just past the Fleet Center, 251 Causeway Street
(Veteran's Clinic Building) will be on your right, just before the stoplight
at the corner of North Washington Street.
- From the West: Follow the Massachusetts Turnpike to Interstate 93N to Boston. Exit 25/Causeway Street is now permanently closed. From the new I-93 North take Exit 26 (Storrow Dr.) and follow signs to
North Station/Leverett Circle. At the rotary, follow signs to the Fleet
Center and travel through the first light. At the second light, take a
left onto Causeway Street. Just past the Fleet Center, 251 Causeway Street
(Veteran's Clinic Building) will be on your right, just before the stoplight
at the corner of North Washington Street.
- From Logan Airport: At the airport, follow signs to the Ted Williams Tunnel toward Boston.
Once through the tunnel, take Route 93N to Boston. Exit 25 (Causeway Street) is now permanently closed. From the new I-93 North take Exit 26 (Storrow Dr.) and follow signs to
North Station/Leverett Circle. At the rotary, follow signs to the Fleet
Center and travel through the first light. At the second light, take a
left onto Causeway Street. Just past the Fleet Center, 251 Causeway Street
(Veteran's Clinic Building) will be on your right, just before the stoplight
at the corner of North Washington Street.
Parking is available in a privately operated garage on Commercial Street at the corner of Prince Street. On-street parking is very limited.
25 West Experiment Station (on the UMass Amherst Campus)

From the North: Route 91 South to exit 25 - at the end of the ramp, turn left and follow
and follow to light - turn right on rtes. 5&10 and follow about 1 mile,
past Yankee Candle, to left at second light onto rte. 116 south - then
8 miles to UMass exit (after highway divides) - left at end of ramp onto
Mass. Avenue - then follow directions to Parking Garage below

From the South: Route 91 North to Exit 19 (Northampton/Amherst) - at end of ramp turn
right onto Route 9 (over CT River via Coolidge Bridge) - go approx. 7 miles
to Rte 116 north, which is a left at the lights opposite Staples - go 1
mile to UMass Exit - right at end of ramp on Mass. Avenue (Note: The Coolidge
Bridge is under construction - expect significant delays Eastbound in AM
or Westbound in afternoon)

From the East: Mass Pike (Rte. 90) West to Exit 4 (West Springfield) onto Rte. 91 North - follow directions above from the south.
OR
Rte. 2 West, follow to I-91 South in Greenfield and follow directions above
from the North.

From the West: Mass Pike (Rte. 90) East to Exit 4 (West Springfield) onto Rte 91 North
- follow directions above from the south. If coming east on Route 2 toward
Boston, get on I 91 South in Greenfield and follow directions above from
the north.
PARKING IN THE GARAGE
After exiting Rte. 116 onto Mass. Avenue as above, turn left at the second set of lights onto Commonwealth Avenue - The Mullins Center Stadium (green roof) is on your left as you pass it, turning right at the first light onto Campus Center Way (sign for garage, power plant on right). If the garage is full (seldom), park in the "E" lot as directed by the garage full sign.
WALKING TO WEST EXPERIMENT STATION FROM THE GARAGE
Exit the Garage on the ground level in the direction opposite where you
entered and in the left corner (toward the Campus Center). If you parked
in the basement level, go up a floor. Keeping the large, concrete Campus
Center on your right, walk in front of (keeping them on your left) Draper
Hall (brick with pillars) and Goessman Hall (large brick chemistry building
opposite the Campus Center). The Stockbridge School of Agriculture will
be behind you. After Goessman, you will be headed toward an old architecturally
interesting brick building with a covered portico and a corner parapet.
This is the West Experiment Station, which you may also know as the Soil
Testing Lab - and we are upstairs on the right. Ring the bell if the door
is locked.
221 West Street, Amherst
From the MassPike
Take Exit 8 (Palmer Exit) Turn right after the toll to Palmer Center.
Take a right turn on to Route 181 to Belchertown. Go straight through Belchertown
Center and at the second set of lights near left on to Route 9 (A small
mall will be on the left side). Follow the road to Amherst Center and at
the second set of lights take a left on to Route 116. The Field Office
is located at 441 West Street in the Amherst Professional Park.
This is the same park where the USDA NRCS and FSA offices are located,
though the DAR field office is located in the building closest to the main
road.
