184Site ID:GloucesterTown:0.4Acres:NoRapid Technical Site Assessment:RestrictionFillAgricultureOtherCompleted ProjectLowPriority:Site consists of ~.5 acre of historically-filled salt marsh off the western end of Perrywinkle Lane. The Gloucester restoration plan produced by Mass Audubon and reviewed by city officials identifies this site as a priority. The marsh was apparently filled to create an upland causeway across the marsh to provide boat access to the Annisquam River. A site visit was not conducted. The access road and landing reportedly receive heavy use for shellfishing access. Restoration actions would remove the fill from the marsh surface to restore proper wetland soils, hydrology, and vegetation. Restoration potential is considered low based on the ongoing active use of the site and high per-acre costs to remove the fill and haul it off site. Restoration of this site may be appropriate as mitigation for off-site wetland impacts.Site Summary:Under DevelopmentImpact Type(s)StatusPotential Project
