208Site ID:GloucesterTown:0.3Acres:NoRapid Technical Site Assessment:RestrictionFillAgricultureOtherCompleted ProjectLowPriority:Site consists of a ~0.3-acre area of historically-filled salt marsh south of Route 133 and north of Route 127 within the Gloucester Wastewater Treatment Plant salt marsh complex. The 1850s Coastal Survey shows the delineated area as salt marsh. GIS analysis indicates that the site is currently used as a residential lawn area that extends out into the former marsh. A site visit was not conducted. Restoration actions would remove fill material down to appropriate marsh grades and restore wetland soils, hydrology, and vegetation. Restoration potential is considered low based on the private ownership of the site and active use of the area as a residential back yard. Potential is also reduced due to the likely high per-acre costs of excavating the fill and hauling it from the site. Restoration of this site may be appropriate as mitigation for off-site wetland impacts.Site Summary:Under DevelopmentImpact Type(s)StatusPotential Project
