243Site ID:IpswichTown:0.9Acres:NoRapid Technical Site Assessment:RestrictionFillAgricultureOtherCompleted ProjectLowPriority:Site consists of a small pocket of marsh west of Jeffreys Neck Road that is isolated from tidal flows. GIS analysis and site observation indicate that the site is severly degraded from lack of tidal exchange and possibly polluted runoff. The entire site is completely dominated by Phragmites. No hydrologic connection was found. Restoration actions would consist of re-connecting the marsh to tidal influence by installing a new culvert either beneath Jeffreys Neck Road or beneath the private driveway at the north end of the site to connect to the marsh adjacent to the Eagle Hill River. Restoration of tidal hydrology may be complicated by low-lying property adjacent to the site. Further assessment is needed to evaluate restoration options and potential flooding problems. Restoration potential is considered low due to the small opportunity, high per-acre costs for a new culvert, and potential flooding of adjacent property.Site Summary:Under DevelopmentImpact Type(s)StatusPotential Project
