263Site ID:NewburyTown:3.4Acres:NoRapid Technical Site Assessment: RestrictionFillAgricultureOtherCompleted ProjectMediumPriority: Site is located in the Mill Creek Wildlife Management Area. An old dam across Ox Pasture Brook is in failing condition and impounds water within ~3 acres of upstream wetlands.  GIS analysis and site observation indicate that tidal flows within the Brook likely extended into the marsh upstream of the dam before it was built. The MA Riverways Program accepted this site as a Priority Project in 2006 and is currently assessing the feasibility of removing the dam structure to restore brook continuity, fish habitat, and tidal wetlands upstream. Restoration potential is considered medium due to ownership of the site by the state Department of Fish & Wildlife and support for restoration by state agencies.
