287Site ID:NewburyTown:3Acres:NoRapid Technical Site Assessment:RestrictionFillAgricultureOtherCompleted ProjectLowPriority:This site appears to be an area of historically-filled / altered marsh abutting the Little River. GIS analysis and historic maps suggest that the delineated area was formerly tidal marsh that was converted to upland for unknown reasons (probably agriculture). A site visit was not conducted. Hand-augered soil cores would likely help determine whether soils within the site are native material or fill on top of former wetland. Restoration actions would remove fill material down to appropriate marsh grades and restore wetland soils, hydrology, and vegetation. Restoration potential is considered low based on private ownership and unknown current and past conditions of the site. Further assessment and a site inspection are needed. If the site is filled marsh, restoration may be appropriate as mitigation for off-site wetland impacts.Site Summary:Under DevelopmentImpact Type(s)StatusPotential Project
