PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

321 CMR 2.06: Classes of Hunting, Fishing, and Trapping Licenses.

May 21, 2008 at 3:30 PM in the Downtown Campus of Greenfield Community College, 270 Main Street, Greenfield.

In accordance with the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 131, Sections 4 and 11, and Chapter 30A, Section 2, NOTICE is hereby given of a public hearing to be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at 3:30 P.M. at the Downtown Campus, Greenfield Community College, 270 Main Street, Greenfield, Mass., to amend or establish rules and regulations relative to resident minor sporting licenses.

Directions--The Downtown Campus of GCC is located on Main Street, in downtown Greenfield. Take exit 26 off I-91 and follow the traffic rotary to Route 2A east toward downtown. Public parking is available at School and Ames Streets and between Chapman and Davis Streets one block away. Please do not park in either of the Wilson's Department Store parking lots.

Plain Language Summary of Hearing Proposal:

At this time, there is no "sporting" license category for minors (15-17). A minor who wishes to both hunt and fish must either purchase an S1 (15 and older) sporting license, or, purchase both a minor hunting license and a minor fishing license. The proposal is to create a license category for a minor sporting license, or to otherwise lessen the licensing burden for such minors.
