321 CMR 3.00: Hunting

November 24, 2009 at 1:30 PM at the Division of Fisheries and Wildlife Field Headquarters, 1 Rabbit Hill Road (off North Drive) Westborough.
In accordance with the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 131, Section 6, and Chapter 30A, Section 2, NOTICE is hereby given of a public hearing to be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at the Division of Fisheries & Wildlife Field Headquarters, 1 Rabbit Hill Road, Westborough, Mass., relative to rules and regulations pertaining to the lists of stocked and non-stocked wildlife management areas and the definition of "installations".
Plain Language Summary of Hearing Proposal:
Certain provisions ("hunter orange" cap, restrictions on rifles and handguns) of the wildlife management area (WMA) regulations apply differently to WMAs stocked with pheasant or quail and to those WMAs which are not stocked. The lists of stocked and non-stocked areas in the WMA regulations are periodically updated to reflect acquisitions of new WMAs, changes in stocking status, or name changes. Also, the definition of "installation" currently includes "game farms". DFW no longer has active game farms, and thus "game farm" should be deleted from the regulation.
