Fisheries & Wildlife Board Meetings
Open to the public and media, the Fisheries and Wildlife Board meets monthly. These public meetings provide Board members with information from MassWildlife on wildlife and related topics and issues across the state. The Board's mandate is to protect and manage the wildlife of the Commonwealth as an essential public natural resource for the use and enjoyment of all citizens who hunt, fish, trap, and enjoy nature study and wildlife observation. This includes all mammals, birds, and freshwater fish, plus insects, invertebrates and plants that are listed under state and federal regulations as rare, endangered, threatened, or of special concern. The Board has hiring authority over agency staff and makes decisions concerning the acquisition and protection of land and water for wildlife. To be placed on the meeting agenda a person must notify the Board two weeks before the Board meeting. For specifics contact Julie Delaney at (508) 389-6342.
