Massachusetts Shooting Clubs With Free Public Access

The following is a list of clubs which have successfully collaborated with MassWildlife's Hunter Education Program on Range Development, Enhancement and Public Access. Details of the facilities, public access hours and contact information follows.

The Council's shotgun, rifle and archery ranges shall be open to the public on Saturdays from September through October from 10 am until Noon. Skeet and Trap ranges are open to the public on Sundays from 1 pm until dusk.

The club's 100-yard rifle range is open to the public May through September; Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and October through April; Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The club's 3-D archery course is open to the public during all scheduled and non-scheduled shooting events. The club's sporting clays course is open to the public during all scheduled and non-scheduled shooting events.

The club's trap and skeet fields shall be open to the public Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (or later), Wednesdays 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (or later), and Thursdays 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (or later).

The club's skeet and trap ranges are open to the public on Tuesday afternoons from May to November from 4:00 p.m. to dusk (1:00 p.m. to dusk in the fall) and Sunday mornings 9:00 a.m. - Noon. Sporting Clays are held once a month on Saturdays from May to November and are open to the public.

The club's trap range is open on Sundays, year round, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and on Friday evenings (May through October) from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The club's rifle range is open to the public one week during the "Hunting season" to allow sportsmen to sight in their firearms. The club's 100-yard rifle/pistol range is open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to Noon on Sundays. Archery range is open to the public daily from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. All organized 3-D archery shoots are open to the public. Shoots are scheduled twice a month on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to Noon. Black Powder range is open to the public on Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to Noon. All club organized competitive black powder shoots are open to the public. Skeet and Trap ranges are open to the public on Sunday and Tuesday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to Noon and seasonally on Tuesday and Friday evenings from dusk to 9:00 p.m.

The club's Skeet and Trap ranges shall be open to the public on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 12:30 to 6:00pm and on Sundays 9 am to 6 pm. The Big Bore Range for Black Powder Practice shall be open to the public on Wednesdays at 2:30 to 6:00 pm. The Big Bore Range for Civilian Marksmanship shall be open to the public last Sunday of the month 9:30 am - 6 pm. The Big Bore Range shall be open to the public accomanied by a club member of Range master on the premises Sunday through Friday 9 am - 6 pm and Saturday 12:30 - 6 pm.

The clubs Indoor range is open to the public on Monday evenings for competitive handgun shooting from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Wednesday evenings for the junior rifle program from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (September through May) and every 3rd Sunday of the month for Blacklight shoots starting at 10:00 a.m. The club's 3-D Archery course is open to the public throughout the calendar year. The club's Trap shooting range is open to the public on Sundays at 1:00 p.m. and Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. The club's Civilian Marksmanship Program is offered twice a month and is open to the public.

The club's Outdoor Trap Range shall be open to the public year round, during scheduled instruction on Mondays at 9 am, Thursdays at 3 pm, Saturdays at 9 am and Sundays at 10 am. The Indoor Archery Range shall be open to the public on Tuesdays from 7 pm until close. The Outdoor 3-D Archery range shall be open to the public during 4 scheduled evening events throughout the year. The Indoor Pistol Range shall be open to the public during scheduled target pistol events, 40 weeks each year on Mondays starting at 7 pm and during scheduled Youth Rifle Instruction on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Wednesday evenings of the month.

The club's skeet field is open to the public on Wednesdays from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 pm and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The club's 3-D Archery Course is open to the public from sunrise to sunset, 50 weeks out of the year. Cowboy (pistol) matches and rifle matches are open to the public. The club's Junior Marksmanship program for school age children and teens is open from September through June on Sunday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to Noon.
