Zebra Mussels
The information for the zebra mussel web pages was derived from a review
and subsequent presentation by DFW staff about zebra mussels made at
a Fisheries and Wildlife Board Meeting on July 28, 2009.
Zebra
mussels, (Dreissena polymorpha) are an invasive, aquatic invertebrate
found in early July 2009 in Laurel Lake in Lee, Massachusetts. In this
website, you will find information on zebra mussel life history, how
these mussels came to the United States, the various impacts of these
mussels and ways that you can help slow the spread of these mussels
to other waterbodies. Information about other management efforts is
also included.
