Online Licensing

Online Licenses button When available, you may purchase your Fishing, Hunting, and Sporting licenses, permits, and stamps online via the Department of Fish & Game's MassOutdoors system. In addition, you may also renew your motorboat, ATV, or snowmobile registration, or purchase a recreational lobster permit.

Please note that an administrative handling fee will be charged to defray expenses. This fee will be identified and itemized in your Shopping Cart prior to making payment. Your credit card statement will identify all transactions as "MassOutdoors".

Important Information

  • Massachusetts fishing, hunting, and sporting licenses are based on a calendar year (i.e. January 1 through December 31 of the same year - e.g. 2010) The availability of licenses in subsequent calendar years will be posted when the licenses are ready for issuance.
  • Before you can hunt big game species (white-tailed deer, black bear, wild turkey), YOU MUST WAIT until you receive your license and tags that are printed on standardized stock and sent via U.S. mail. Please plan accordingly.
  • You may fish or hunt small game with a copy of the 10-day Temporary License that you print at home or work. Please replace the temporary license with the permanent license when it arrives in the mail. (Note: If you do not receive the permanent license within the 10-day temporary period, please contact the Help Desk at 617-626-1600 or by e-mail at mass.outdoors@state.ma.us.
