Antlerless Deer Permit Drawing Results

Each year MassWildlife holds a public drawing to determine who will receive an Antlerless Deer Permit for the various Wildlife Management Zones throughout the state. Hunters needed to apply for an antlerless permit by July 16 in order to be in the drawing.

This year the antlerless deer permit drawing took place at the Hubbardston Rod and Gun Club in Hubbardston on August 1, 2011. The event included a short explanation about deer management by the Deer Project Leader and the drawing occurred afterwards.

Results from the drawing are posted in the table below.

Antlerless Deer Permit Drawing Details:

The winning numbers listed above are based on the LAST digit of your hunting or sporting license number. If the last digit of your license matches any of the numbers listed in the zone for which you applied, you will be awarded a permit for that zone. For partial numbers, winners will be randomly selected from the total number of applicants that had that number (Note: Not every applicant with the partial number will receive a permit). The number of winners for these partial digits is listed in parentheses next to the number.

If successfully selected, applicants will receive a pink postcard in mid-August. In order to ensure the arrival of your antlerless deer permit by the beginning of the archery deer season, the postcard and the $5 fee must be returned by September 3rd to:

MassWildlife FHQ
1 Rabbit Hill Road (off North Drive)
Westborough, MA 01581

Applicants NOT selected through the drawing will receive a yellow re-application postcard in mid-August. Applicants receiving a yellow postcard will have the option to re-apply for a permit in a Wildlife Management Zone for which permits are still available. Re-application postcards will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, so re-applicants should mail in (or drop off) postcards to Westborough as soon as possible.

Over the counter sales of any remaining permits will begin October 11th. This is the final opportunity to acquire any antlerless deer permits in those zones for which permits remain available after the drawing process has been completed. These permits will be available at select locations across the state on a first-come, first-served basis. Please check our website for future details regarding over the counter sales. More details on sales will be posted in early October on the Antlerless Deer Permit Home page.
