Catch & Release Fishing Areas

Only artificial lures may be used in Catch & Release areas. Possession of bait is prohibited. In designated Fly Fishing Areas, all anglers must use a conventional fly rod and fly line.

Connecticut Valley Swift River Belchertown Dam Section: From Winsor Dam downstream to Rte. 9Rte 9 Section: From Rte 9 downstream to Cady Lane Fly Fishing Only . All anglers must use a conventional fly rod and fly line. Year round Catch & Release. Call DCR for more information (413) 323-7221Catch & release, artificial lures only. (July 1-December 31)
Northeast Nissitissit Pepperell From the NH border downstream to the Prescott Street Bridge Fly Fishing Only. All anglers must use a conventional fly rod and fly line.
Southeast Quashnet River Falmouth / Mashpee From the outlet of John's Pond to the MassWildlife sign approximately .1 mile south of Rte. 28  
Southeast Red Brook Plymouth / Wareham / Bourne From the outlet of White Island Pond to the inlet of Buttermilk Bay  
Western Upper Deerfield River Florida / Rowe Fife Brook Dam to Hoosac Tunnel  
Western Lower Deerfield River Charlemont From Pelham Brook to Mohawk Campground  
Western Housatonic River Lee From the Rte 20 Bridge in Lee downstream to the Willow Mill Dam in South Lee No Fishing from June 15 - Aug 15 within 100 feet from the mouths of posted tributaries: Beartown Brook, Goose Pond Brook and Hop Brook
Western Housatonic River Stockbridge From the Glendale Dam downstream to the Railroad bridge No Fishing from June 15-Aug 15 within 100 feet from the mouth of posted tributary: Hop Brook
Western Westfield River Chesterfield / Huntington Immediately below Chesterfield Gorge parking lot in Chesterfield to the gate north of the Corps of Engineers parking lot at Knightville in Huntington
