DELETION FROM DOCUMENTATION (March 1998)
|
|||
| A vessel may be deleted from documentation upon the request of any interested party, providing that the request is in writing and that the vessel does not have an outstanding mortgage on record. | |||
| The written request to remove a vessel from documentation may be mailed or faxed. The request must recite the vessel's official number. If you need evidence that the vessel has been deleted from documentation, you may obtain a Deletion Letter for a fee of $15.00, check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard, or charged to your Master Card or Visa credit card. | |||
| If your request for deletion is accompanied by an original USCG Bill of Sale (form CG-1340), the Bill of Sale may be recorded evidencing the transfer of ownership to the buyer prior to the deletion of the vessel from documentation. There is an $8.00 fee for the recording of the Bill of Sale when submitted in conjunction with the deletion process. | |||
| You may submit specific questions regarding the deletion process by calling 800-799-8362 or by FAX at 304-271-2405. | |||
