  DMF Responsibilities
 
  • Conduct portside bycatch studies on landings of the commercial small pelagic (Atlantic herring and Atlantic mackerel) fisheries
 
  • Sample various state headboats to collect biological, effort and economical data for the Marine Recreational Information Project (MRIP)
 
  • Logistical and field support for the striped bass and cod acoustic tagging projects
 
  • Assistance with the spring and fall DMF resource assessment surveys
 
  • Support with port sampling of the state’s striped bass, haddock, cod and dogfish fisheries.
