Hours:
Variable schedule due to tides and rainfall. Please call for current daily hours.

Services:
- Depuration of soft-shell clams
- Shellfish Sanitation and Management Program - collects samples for Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning (PSP) testing. Conducts sanitary surveys in support of the classification of shellfish growing areas. Responds to coastal pollution events and co-reviews coastal alteration projects. Provides technical assistance to municipalities concerning shellfish management issues.
- Laboratory activities: perform water and shellfish tests as it relates to depuration process.

Directions:
From route 95 (north or south) Take exit 57. At the top of the ramp take Rt. 113 East toward Newburyport. Follow Rt. 113 East approximately 3.9 miles through Newburyport into Newbury. Pass the Newbury Town Hall to a full set of stop lights. Turn left at the lights onto Rolf's Lane. At the end of Rolf's Lane turn right onto the Plum Island Turnpike. Once onto Plum Island go straight past the Citgo Station. Go past surfland Bait & Tackle and follow Nothern Blvd. To the left. Stay on Northern Blvd. Approximatley 1.5 miles to the northern point of Plum Island. Go past the Lighthouse Restaurant, into a large parking lot. The Shellfish Plant (shingled with white trim) is down to the left. The Division of Marine Fisheries sign is on the building over the loading dock.
