Consistent with 322 CMR 9.00, the Division of Marine Fisheries (MarineFisheries) has limited landing/possession of Atlantic herring to 2,000 lbs. per day for vessels fishing in Management Area 1A effective 0001 hours on December 2, 2005 (see Figure 1). On November 25, 2005, NOAA Fisheries projected that 95% of the Atlantic herring Total Allowable Catch (TAC) allocated to Management Area 1A for the 2005 fishing year (January – December) would be harvested by December 2, 2005.

This restriction will cease at 0001 hours, January 1, 2006 at which time the Period 1 Area 1A TAC for Atlantic herring will become available.
