TO ALL INTERESTED IN MANAGEMENT OF BOSTON HARBOR SOFT SHELL CLAM CONTAMINATED FISHERY:
The Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries (MarineFisheries) has scheduled an Informational Meeting on clamming in Boston Harbor for Friday, February 10th (10A.M.) at the Division’s Annisquam River Marine Fisheries Station in Gloucester. All interested parties, particularly all Master and Subordinate diggers are invited to attend to hear about and discuss management of the Boston Harbor soft shell clam contaminated fishery. Topics will include an overview of the rainfall policy, explanation of the Shellfish Plant depuration cycle, NSSP depuration sampling requirements, Boston digging schedule and area rotation, Boston Harbor classification, NSSP area monitoring requirements, recent Boston Harbor production and a review of MarineFisheries moderately contaminated harvest requirements, rules and regulations (322 CMR 7.00, 322 CMR 10.00) as well as a discussion of established plant policies.
All diggers and dealers interested in this fishery are encouraged to attend this meeting.
The meeting has been scheduled for Friday February 10, 2006 (10AM) at the Annisquam River Marine Fisheries Station Conference Room (30 Emerson Ave, Gloucester).
