Current landing and dealer reporting information indicates that the Commonwealth’s annual commercial quota for the 2006 summer flounder (fluke) fishery will be reached by Thursday, September 7, 2006. Therefore, after Thursday, September 7, 2006 commercial fishermen are prohibited from landing or possessing fluke.

The 2007 commercial fluke fishery will begin on January 1, 2007 with a 2,500-lb. daily trip limit.
