OCTOBER 19 th MEETING WITH NORTH SHORE SHELLFISHERMEN TO
DISCUSS MANAGEMENT OF SHELLFISH AREAS –
Conditional classifications, national shellfish requirements and rainfall closures
Senator Tarr will be joined by Representative Verga and Representative Hill in hosting a meeting with the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries (MarineFisheries) on behalf of local shellfishermen to discuss conditional shellfish area classifications and requirements of the National Shellfish Sanitation Program (NSSP), including establishment of rainfall closures. In addition, MarineFisheries staff will provide descriptions, comparisons and management of conditional areas statewide.
The meeting will start at 2PM on Friday October 19, 2007 at the Annisquam River Marine Fisheries Station (30 Emerson Ave , Gloucester).
