Effective immediately, MarineFisheries is reducing the commercial haddock minimum size from 19” to 18”. This emergency action is taken to complement an August 9 th announcement that NOAA Fisheries would be enacting an 18” commercial minimum size for haddock on August 10 th to decrease regulatory discards. Note, recreational fishermen fishing aboard for-hire vessels or from private vessels will continue to be restricted by a 19” haddock minimum size.
