The Division of Marine Fisheries (MarineFisheries) has projected that 100% of the Commonwealth’s 2007 commercial tautog quota will be taken by October 28, 2007. Consequently, commercial fishermen are prohibited from landing or possessing tautog effective 0001 hours on Monday, October 29th.

Dealers are reminded that it is unlawful to purchase tautog from Massachusetts commercial fishermen when the fishery is closed. The recreational fishery remains open with a 3-tautog possession limit per day.
