NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS
SCHEDULED FOR MAY 21, 2007


Under the provisions of M.G.L. Ch 30A and pursuant to the authority found in M.G.L. Ch. 130 ss. 17, 17A, 80 and 104, Division of Marine Fisheries (DMF) and the Marine Fisheries Advisory Commission (MFAC) have scheduled hearings on the following proposed regulations for management of American lobster:

  1. Accept comments on DMF proposals to amend lobster processing regulations (322 CMR 6.32), including :
    1. repeal of a requirement to process all lobster parts within 30-minutes of their separation from the tail; and
    2. a repeal of a prohibition on the retail of frozen shell-on lobster parts, provided parts are produced by an authorized processor subject to state and federal requirements
  2. Accept comments on a public petition to repeal a prohibition on the sale of frozen shell-on lobster parts other than the tail, including lobster carapaces.

A Public hearing has been scheduled for:
Monday, May 21, 2007 (7PM) at the AnnisquamRiver Marine Fisheries Station
( 30 Emerson Ave. , Gloucester )
