Under the provisions of M.G.L. Ch 30A and pursuant to the authority found in M.G.L. Ch. 130 ss. 17, 17A, and 80 and 104, Division of Marine Fisheries (DMF) and the Marine Fisheries Advisory Commission (MFAC) have scheduled a hearing to accept comments on a recent emergency action by DMF to reduce the commercial minimum size for haddock from 19” to 18” (322 CMR 6.03). The Director would re-establish a 19” commercial minimum size for haddock if NOAA Fisheries take similar action (likely by the summer of 2008).
