30,000-LB. COMMERCIAL SCUP TRIP LIMIT SET FOR
2008 WINTER I FISHING PERIOD
The Division of Marine Fisheries is providing this notice of regulatory measures in effect for the 2008 fishing period for scup:
Winter I fishing period from January through April 2008: It is unlawful for a commercial fisherman to possess greater than 30,000-lbs. of scup per trip. When 80 percent of the federal quota is projected to be reached, the limit will become 1,000-lbs. of scup per trip.
These limits, approved by the Marine Fisheries Advisory Commission, complement commercial scup rules published by NOAA Fisheries. The Winter I period commercial scup fishery is managed under a coast-wide quota by NOAA Fisheries.
