Current dealer reporting information indicates that the Commonwealth’s 2009 summer flounder (fluke) fishery quota (702,614-lbs.) will be reached on Tuesday, August 11th.  Therefore, after 8PM on Tuesday, August 11th commercial fishermen are prohibited from landing or possessing fluke through December 31, 2009. 

The 2010 Period I fishery is scheduled to open on February 1, 2010 with a 500-lb. daily possession limit for net gears.
