On November 2, 2010 the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission Northern Shrimp Section met to determine the 2010-2011 northern shrimp season.  The 2010-2011 target harvest was set at 4,000 MT and a 136-day season established.  The 2010-2011 commercial northern shrimp season shall begin at 0001 hours on December 1, 2010 and shall close at 2359 hours on April 15, 2011.  No days-out will be observed.  The Section will again meet in February, 2011 to assess commercial landings.  Based on findings, season length, trip limits and other control measures may be amended.

Pursuant to 322 CMR 5.04(2) the Division of Marine Fisheries will accept comments through 5:00 PM on November 24, 2010.  Written comments must be received by e-mail, (marine.fish@state.ma.us), fax (617.626.1509), or mail (DMF; 251 Causeway St., Suite 400; Boston, MA 02114).  Unless notified otherwise, these specifications will go into effect on December 1, 2010.
