It has come to our attention that there is a delay in the ordering and distribution of trap tags for the 2011 season.  In response to the delay, all 2010 trap tags will remain valid through June 30, 2011.  Current season trap tags will be required by July 1, 2011.  Under 322 CMR 3.07 & 6.12 all commercial traps aboard a vessel or deployed in the water must bear a valid (current) trap tag.   

All permit holders are reminded that trap tags can be ordered as early as December for the following year and be mindful that it often takes approximately eight weeks for delivery.  Permit holders should order tags by March 15th  to ensure timely delivery by May 31. 

DMF intends not to grant any extension of the deadline in 2012.
