The Massachusetts Marine Fisheries Advisory Commission approved an 8,000 lb trip limit for period that coincides with the Winter II (November 1 – December 31) federal scup fishery.  This trip limit goes into effect on November 1, 2012 and conforms to the federal trip limit for this period. 

The federal Winter I scup fishery (January 1 – April 30) had an underage of 7,186,694 lbs, which rolled into the 4,519,628 lb federal Winter II scup quota.  According to the federal management plan for scup, if Winter I rollover exceed 2,000,000 lbs allows the Winter II trip limit to be set at 8,000 lbs.
