International Technical Workshop on Gadoid Capture by Pots (GACAPOT)

4 November 2006
Gloucester, Massachusetts, USA

> Workshop Announcement

> Draft Agenda

Colleagues:

On behalf of Paul Winger and Pingguo He, thank you for your interest in GACAPOT. Attached is a draft agenda that includes the names of our accepted speakers, and starting and end times for the meeting. We have allowed for a morning of presentations that will focus on the principles of gadoid potting, and an afternoon to discuss the state of knowledge and future research directions.

We have word from the ICES Symposium organizers that the ICES Symposium will conclude by 2 PM (14:00) on Friday. We will be offering transportation from Boston to Gloucester on Friday, 3 November (the afternoon before the workshop) and a return ride to Boston after the conclusion of the workshop. Please indicate if you are interested in using this transportation so we can plan an appropriately sized vehicle. Also, we are tentatively planning an informal social event on Friday evening.

Accommodations may be somewhat limited in Gloucester during this time of year. The convenors have made reservations at the Ocean View Inn and Resort. They offer a Corporate Rate of $99 USD plus tax and have plenty of rooms available right now. Other possibly open hotels near this one on Atlantic Avenue can be found at http://www.capeannvacations.com/; we are aware that the Sea Lion Inn, and Gloucester Inn by the Sea will be open and have rooms.

Cab fare to the meeting place is approximately $7-9 US plus tip from this area. If you would like a free ride to the meeting, please respond with your hotel location, and we will attempt to find a ride for you.

We will keep you informed with further updates. If you have any questions, please contact Mike Pol
