AreaNav has been developed as a map viewer and a tool for data collection and navigation. The application interface is simple enough to make it easy to learn and attractive to non-experts. Although initial releases of AreaNav have been targeted to meet the needs of the Massachusetts Environmental Police, the development strategy has always been to provide a tool for many different users within the Department.
