Neponset River Restoration, Milton and Boston

Archived Historic Photographs from the Dept. of Conservation Recreation

With the assistance of the DCR Archivist, Riverways researched documentation of flooding, hurricanes, and DCR construction projects along the Neponset River. DCR Archives contained over 350 photos documenting the Neponset River post-August, 1955 Hurricane Diane and DRC construction projects. The DCR had in-house professional photographers which documented many of the construction projects undertaken by the DCR. The majority of these photos were digitally scanned as JPEG image files and have been made available for distribution.

The DCR archives are catalogued into four sections:
