Neponset River Restoration, Milton and Boston

Historic Photographs

Riverways has researched historical photographs and studies of the Lower Neponset River between Fowl Meadow and the Walter Baker Dam in order to gain perspective on how the river and river corridor have changed over the last century. A full understanding of the alterations that have been made to this urban river is key to understanding the opportunities for ecological restoration and contaminant remediation as well as possible constraints on alternative approaches.
