Stream Restoration Projects
The Riverways Program evaluates and undertakes stream restoration projects by partnering with local and regional river advocacy groups. Restoration projects follow an ecosystem-based subwatershed approach focusing on the factors that most impact river and stream health. Stream restoration projects that Riverways works on include: stream continuity and aquatic species passage projects such as dam removal and culvert replacement and retrofits; aquatic habitat improvement; stream daylighting; and urban stream revitalization.
