Alternative Fuels/TransportationMA Clean Cities CoalitionThe Massachusetts Clean Cities Coalition is a program that works to encourage the use of alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs) with the help of local businesses, organizations, and numerous state and federal agencies MA State Biodiesel MandateIn the interest of addressing environmental, public health, and supply and security concerns, and improving the efficiency of state government operations by reducing our dependence on foreign oil, agencies across the Commonwealth are required to substitute a soy-based (bio) fuel for a portion of their petroleum fuel in all diesel vehicles and equipment and in boilers that use #2 heating fuel beginning in FY08. Advanced Biofuels Task ForceThe Massachusetts Advanced Biofuels Task Force was established to study and make recommendations for legislation, regulations and other programs to promote the development of an advanced biofuels industry in the Commonwealth. TelecommutingFrom 1994 through 1996, the Massachusetts Division of Energy Resources and the Massachusetts Highway Department undertook a project to study what specific impacts telecommuting has on companies, individuals and society.
