There was an impressive exchange of ideas at the first meeting of the DOR Advisory Council.
The Advisory Council is a key element of DOR 360, the Commissioner’s initiative to engage and communicate with the DOR community. The Council consists of 16 members representing a broad spectrum of taxpayers. Secretary Glen Shor of Administration and Finance kicked off the meeting by welcoming the Council members and applauding the Commissioner for reaching out to stakeholders. After reviewing DOR’s strategic plan, the Council members broke into working groups with DOR senior management to discuss communications and dispute resolution. The exchange generated some great feedback. Working groups are expected to drill down on some of those ideas between meetings. Council members thanked the Commissioner and DOR for asking for their input and providing the forum. The next Advisory Council meeting is being scheduled for late April.
