Purpose:

Reimburse sending districts for the tuition they pay to Commonwealth charter schools.

How were the estimates determined?

Local Aid Proposals based on the Governor's Budget use the October 1st enrollments and expected growth for existing charter schools. Applications and anticipated enrollments are the basis for charter schools opening in the upcoming year.


Why did the estimates change?

Projected enrollments as of March 15th are used to calculate tuition rates in subsequent local aid proposals and final cherry sheet receipts. Rates may also change as better estimated spending data are finalized.

Estimates may vary for each budget proposal based on the appropriation provided to fund the Charter Tuition Assessment Reimbursement program.
