Recent Developments in Municipal Law
The Division of Local Services Legal Staff offers its "Recent Developments in Municipal Law" seminars for local officials every fall. Presentations include new legislation and recent court decisions pertaining to local government. The next seminars will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at The Log Cabin Banquet & Meeting House in Holyoke and Friday, October 5, 2012 at The Lantana in Randolph. The Division of Local Services has created an online PowerPoint presentation to familiarize local officials with the functions of the Divisions bureaus. We hope you will take the opportunity to run this presentation to learn more about the Division. This online tutorial is one of the first steps the Division is taking to utilize the Internet for training purposes.-
New Officials Finance Forum
The Division of Local Services offers a seminar for recently elected or appointed officials every June. With an emphasis on the basics, this course is designed to foster a team approach to the various offices by developing an understanding of the responsibilities of the various offices as well as their interrelationship. This year’s event will be held at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester on Tuesday, May 29th. Registration information.
