Paul E. Caron served 20 years (1983-2003) as a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, serving as State Representative of the 11th Hampden District, representing the City of Springfield.   Caron who was first elected at the age of 26, served under four House Speakers and has served as a member of the Committees on; Human Services and Elderly Affairs, Public Service, Energy, Federal Financial Assistance, Transportation and Government Regulations. Caron has also served as a member of House Leadership, as a member of the House Ways and Means Committee and as the Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Housing and Urban Development. Caron also served as House Chairman of the Public Safety for six years from 1991-1997.

Upon leaving the Legislature in 2003, he formed Paul E. Caron Associates, a Public Affairs firm which specialized in Government Affairs and Business Development.  In 2003, Caron began his longstanding association with the Wholesalers Industry by serving as lobbyist for the Massachusetts Wholesalers Association.  In 2005, the Massachusetts Wholesalers Association expanded to become the Northeast Association of Wholesale Distributors representing the interests of the Wholesale Distributors Industry throughout New England.  In 2009, Caron became the Executive Director of the Northeast Association of Wholesale Distributors and has become the spokesperson for the Wholesale Distribution Industry testifying at legislative hearings throughout New England to advocate on behalf of Wholesaler's interests.
