The Massachusetts Department of Revenue's (DOR) Taxpayer Advocate, Joseph J. McDermott and the Deputy Advocate for Child Support, Carolyn Waller will be in Springfield on Thursday, October 19, 2000.
The purpose of this visit is to provide taxpayers along with custodial and non-custodial parents the opportunity to meet directly with the Advocates to discuss tax and child support matters.
The Taxpayer Advocate will hold office hours from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Department of Revenue Taxpayer Services Division located at 436 Dwight Street, Room 106. The DOR office maybe reached at (413) 784-1000 ext. 20200.
The Deputy Advocate for Child Support will hold office hours from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at DOR's Child Support Enforcement (CSE) Division Western Massachusetts Office at 115 State Street, on the 3rd floor. The CSE office may be reached at (413) 784-1025.
Commissioner Frederick A. Laskey created the Office of the Taxpayer Advocate in May 1999 to ensure that taxpayers and parents' issues and concerns are addressed in a timely and proper manner. DOR's Advocates are authorized to act on behalf of the Commissioner and are empowered to cut through bureaucratic impediments in resolving taxpayer problems.
