Revenue Commissioner Frederick A. Laskey today named Timothy J. Connolly the Director of Communications for the Department of Revenue (DOR). Connolly will be responsible for handling media relations and the department's communications to the public regarding all aspects of tax and child support issues. He will also oversee the Publishing Services Bureau, which creates and disseminates all DOR tax forms and various agency-wide publications.
Connolly has been a reporter and political columnist for the Worcester Telegram & Gazette for more than 20 years. Since 1992 he has been the paper's political reporter and since 1993 has written a weekly column on Massachusetts and national politics.
"Tim has had a long and distinguished career as a journalist for the Worcester Telegram & Gazette, where he earned the reputation of a highly regarded and capable reporter," said Laskey. "DOR is extremely fortunate to have someone of Tim's caliber and experience join our team."
In addition to his duties at the paper, Connolly has been a part-time professor of journalism at Clark University since 1998. He also taught journalism at Assumption College from 1986 to 2000. In 1999 Assumption awarded him the Outstanding Faculty Award. He received his Master's Degree and Bachelor's Degree from Assumption College. Connolly resides in Worcester with his wife, Donna, and sons Shaun and Mark.
