Grids are provided for the reproduction of DOR's scannable tax forms. These are a 6 lines per vertical inch and 10 characters per horizontal inch spacing grid provided by DOR specifying the exact field placement of all OCR-readable fields. Scannable tax forms submitted to DOR for approval must adhere to the field placement provided for in the grids and must also adhere to the specifications set forth in the Corporate Excise Tax Software Developers Guide, which will be updated with corporate form specifications.

2007 Major Changes to Corporate Record Layouts

A new 30 character vendor information field has been added to the bottom of each page at row 62, columns 45 through 74 so that vendors can better track different versions of their product.

Form 355, (Excise Calculation) page 2, line 4: instruction change.
line 15: new entry for refundable film credit.

Schedule CD (Corporate Disclosure) Three additional questions have been added (6-8).

Schedule CR (Corporate Credits), line 4, which appeared on the 2006 form, has been deleted. Subsequent lines have been renumbered (minus one).
If a taxpayer does have a carryover credit, it is now calculated and applied on the new Schedule H or individual credit schedule.

This schedule has been redesigned to consolidate Schedules RC and RC-A into one schedule and to better account for how affiliate members compute the research credit.
