Regional Health Dialogues
Spring 2008
This April, Commissioner John Auerbach will convene the third round of Regional Health Dialogues in the Berkshires. Building on the invaluable feedback of our local health partners, providers, community based organizations and others, we will begin to outline steps needed to address the challenges and meet the priorities of public health in Massachusetts. Regional Health Dialogues will be held in eight (8) communities across the Commonwealth.
Third Round of Regional Health Dialogues
Fall 2007
DPH Commissioner John Auerbach continued his conversation with community partners through a second set of regional health dialogues conducted this fall. Meetings were held in four communities; New Bedford, North Adams, Holyoke and Lynn. The Commissioner reviewed the priorities established from the feedback provided in a series of internal and external meetings. The presentations also included a review of issues raised in the previous public meetings, and the Department’s work in responding to them. We are pleased to share this information as it is our belief that a continued dialogue is critical in meeting the public health needs of Massachusetts’ residents. Please continue to check our website for the latest information.
Regional Health Dialogue - Commissioner Presentations
Spring 2007
During the Spring of 2007, Commissioner John Auerbach conducted eight regional health dialogues across
the Commonwealth. The
eight meetings had a combined total of more than 1000 participants, and a few hundred individuals took advantage
of the opportunity to inform the Commissioner of their region’s unique needs. DPH also accepted written
comments. The Commissioner used this community input to develop a list of priorities for the Department. DPH
sincerely appreciates and thanks the many local boards of health, providers, consumers, and other interested community
partners who participated in the process.
The summary of each regional health dialogue is posted below. While many participants provided detailed comments, the summaries are only intended to highlight the key themes raised by attendees. These comments do not necessarily reflect the views of the DPH, its employees, or the data presented by the Commissioner.
